At-Home Nurse Visits & IV Therapy in Jacksonville

In-Home Services — the house call, brought back

You feel awful. The thought of sitting in an urgent care waiting room for three hours, next to whatever everyone else brought in, is worse than the illness.

So we come to you instead. Home, office, or hotel, anywhere in Jacksonville. At-home IV therapy, an assessment, lab work, a prescription if you need one — the things a clinic visit does, done at your kitchen table.

You do not need to know what you need before you call. Working that out is our job.

Who comes to your door

It is a fair question to ask anyone you invite into your home, and you should ask it.

Every clinician we send is a nurse licensed in the State of Florida. Judith Abbey, who founded On The Go Drip, is a Doctor of Nursing.

That matters because the person sitting at your kitchen table is qualified to assess you, not only to place a line. They can tell you when a drip is the right answer, when something else would serve you better, and when you ought to be somewhere other than home.

At-home IV therapy in Jacksonville

The most common reason people call us is for at-home IV therapy. You are dehydrated, run down, or you cannot keep water down, and getting yourself to a clinic is the last thing you want to do.

In-home IV therapy means exactly what it says. A nurse arrives at your home, office or hotel with everything needed, assesses you, and runs the drip there. You stay on your own sofa, in your own bathroom, with your own dog.

We use Lactated Ringer’s as our hydration base where it is clinically appropriate. It carries sodium, potassium, calcium and chloride, so it sits closer to your body’s own fluid than plain saline, which is mostly sodium and chloride. It is a small thing you would never think to ask about, and it is the sort of thing we would rather get right.

Every drip below can be delivered at home anywhere we serve in Jacksonville.

What else a nurse can do while they are there

A drip is often not the whole answer. These are the other things we can do in your home, and most people have no idea they are available.

Lab work, drawn at home

Bloodwork without a trip to a draw station. Useful when we need to see what is actually going on before we treat it — low iron being the obvious one. More on lab diagnostics.

Prescriptions, sent to your pharmacy

When your assessment supports it, our Advanced Practice Clinician can prescribe and send medication straight to your pharmacy — for nausea, vomiting, inflammation, pain, reflux or other acute concerns. You are not sent off to arrange it yourself while you feel awful.

Injections

Fifteen minutes, from $75. Worth asking about if you do not need a full drip and would rather not sit for an hour. See vitamin injections.

Virtual consultation

If you are not sure you need anyone to come out at all, start here. A conversation with a clinician, from wherever you are.

You are not booking with a typical IV drip company. You are getting a medical team that can assess what is going on, treat your symptoms during the visit, and prescribe medication when it is clinically appropriate.

A house call, or four hours in a waiting room

We are not an emergency service, and there are times when the ER is exactly where you should be. But for the ordinary, miserable things that send people to urgent care, there is another option.

A visit at home

When to call 911 instead

Chest pain. Difficulty breathing. A head injury. Anything you think might be a stroke.

Call 911. Do not call us first, and do not wait to see how it goes. We would far rather you went to an emergency room and did not need it.

Where we come to you

Home, office, hotel, or event. If you can tell us where you will be, we will come to it.

Duval County: Jacksonville, Riverside, San Marco, Mandarin, Southside, Ortega, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach.

St. Johns County: Ponte Vedra, Nocatee and St. Augustine.

Clay and Nassau: Orange Park, Fleming Island, Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island.

Not on the list but nearby? Call and ask. The answer is often yes.

Questions we hear a lot

Yes. At-home IV therapy is the most common thing we do. A clinician comes to your home, office or hotel anywhere in Jacksonville and the surrounding counties, assesses you, and runs the drip there. Most drips take 30 to 45 minutes. Call (904) 544-5010 and we will sort it out.

Most people searching for an at-home doctor visit want the same thing: someone qualified to come to them, work out what is going on, and treat it without a trip to a clinic. That is what we do.

To be straightforward with you, we are a nursing practice rather than a physician practice. Every clinician who visits is a nurse licensed in the State of Florida, and our founder is a Doctor of Nursing. We assess you, treat what we can, and tell you plainly when you need a physician or an emergency room instead.

If you are not sure whether that covers what you need, call (904) 544-5010 and ask. We would rather tell you honestly than have you book the wrong thing.

No, and you should not try to. Tell us how you are feeling and we will work out what fits. That is the part people find hardest and it is the part we are here for.

[CONFIRM WITH JUDITH — claim B7: a response-time window that can be hit consistently. Until confirmed, say only that same-day appointments are often available.]

Nothing. Somewhere to sit or lie down comfortably, and a bit of space for your clinician to work. We bring everything else.

Home, office, hotel, or an event. We treat people at work more often than you would think.

Our memberships are HSA/FSA eligible. We are not currently able to bill insurance directly.

If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, a head injury, or you think you might be having a stroke, call 911. We are not an emergency service. For anything else, call us and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people.

Tell us how you feel. We will do the rest.

Same-day appointments are often available in Jacksonville.
